The lines of power

Liz, you asked me to post these notes a minute ago. Sorry I'm such a slacker. The lists are obviously not exhaustive, and as each class reacts diferently for obvious reasons of class makeup, I tend to follow their lead a lot here.

a spin

A spin on Lou's contribution that might be helpful in the computer classroom:

I am going to use examples from Disney, as well as a more in-your-face example of Mike Richards' onstage breakdown, to make the concepts expressed in Lou's posting more tangible. I remember how I initially responded to these ideas during my undergrad -- with skepticism -- and I think making it obvious and inescapable (I mean... the hyenas in The Lion King, anyone? Aladdin?) might help them comprehend the more complex dualisms that Lou discusses.

I'll let you know how it goes Smiling

Liz

Spinning and spinning...

Jar Jar Binks and all of the racially voiced and stereoypically portrayed aliens in Star Wars Episode I.... hmmm... I'll keep thinking...
