Friedman response: prompt questions

Prompt: Take about 20 minutes and post your reaction to Friedman's The World is Flat (rambling/ ranting is fine). Then, inspired (?) by the book, post a couple of globalization issues you'd like to learn more about. Here are a few questions to get you started or unstuck:

  1. What do you like most about the book? Least?
  2. What are some good points he makes? Some bad ones?
  3. Identify a few specific spots that interest, annoy, or enlighten you.
  4. Friedman is a journalist, not a business or technology or engineering professor. Find a spot where you think he knows (or doesn't) what he's talking about.

Possible topics from Mon:

  • Media depictions of globalization
  • Globalization and national standards

and suzanne's flippant response

Don't know if any of you have seen the Matt Groening "9 types of professors" cartoon, but Friedman sometimes reminds me of this one.
