Final Blog
Posted April 28th, 2008 by msharifMy plan for this summer is to continue my research project under supervision of Dr. Pekarek. I plan to travel a bit before I start working again after the semester and I am yet to decide where I really want to go. But I know I am going somewhere. Other than that I will be on campus pretty much all summer working on my research project. Sort of looking forward to fall semester as I graduate in that semester.

Posted April 19th, 2008 by msharifSo far the project is almost 50% completed. By this weekend hopefully the first draft will be ready. While working on the project we learned few interesting facts about the Purdue Airport and the aviation tech program. We gathered most of the information we need and the only task remaining is completing the writing part. So far it seems we are on track as per the schedule goes. At this point I think we are pretty good with our project. Once the first draft is ready, we will appreciate any critique/suggestions.

Posted April 16th, 2008 by msharifTornado can be defined as a rotating column of air, moving at a very high speed. They can be in many different sizes and normally takes the shape of a funnel as seen by naked eyes with the sharp end close to the ground. Tornadoes can be conisdered as one of the most dangerous natural phenomenon.

Posted April 9th, 2008 by msharifFor the third and final project, my team mate Adam and I decided to prepare a tour guide brochure for Aviation Technology Guidance Department and Aviation Technology Student council. As of now the council has no formal document that can be handed in facility ( Purdue airport) tours.
So far we have decided on the topic and are almost set to write the proposal. We gathered some information about the history of the facility and the aviation technology program. Adam also talked to some people who are directly involved with the council.

Posted March 31st, 2008 by msharifAs former president of Excalibur club, I along with the executive members of the club organzied a holiday party for underprevilege children from Bayton county. An auction was also organized in order to fund this party. Local businesses were requested to donate stuffs to be auctioned. In other words the entire work was divided into three parts. Requesting local businesses for donations, organizing the auction and successful planning of the party. All execs along with other interested residents of the hall were divided into three groups and each were incharge of one of the tasks.

Posted March 24th, 2008 by msharifI am sure most people are aware of residence hall clubs. These student organizations often organize auctions in order to host holiday season party for underprivileged kids. Donations are requested from local business to be auctioned. Working with Wiley Hall's Excalibur club, i have learned they don't have a brochure or any other informative leaflet that can be sent to these businesses. Though the businesses are quite generous, however I believe it might help to promote their community work further if they have a brochure outlining their activity.

Posted February 26th, 2008 by msharifAfter choosing a topic to write on, I prefer to find out some info on the topic especially if I don't have much knowledge about it. Once I gather enough information about the subject, I try to brainstorm ideas how to put the pieces together. From my experience I can tell I spend quite a bit of time formulating the introduction. I try to finish my paper at one sitting to as it helps the thinking process and focus more on the subject. However I do not use any outlines but on occasions I note down points while brainstorming ideas.
