In the mean time, I will be working for GE Aviation this summer in Cincinnati, OH. I hopefully will get a good job next semester and am looking forward to the opportunities ahead of me. I have enjoyed the class and feel like I have become a better writer because of it.

Posted April 18th, 2008 by atnelsonThe group researched information about the Purdue Airport to include in their brochure. After talking to the guidance counselors, the group is now aiming their brochure for a prospective high school student audience. The majority of the tours they promote are to promote the program to students. The group has created a brochure outline and has complied the pictures and information needed to include in the brochure. The group is on schedule and should be completed with the brochure before the presentation date on April 23rd

Posted April 16th, 2008 by atnelsonA severe storm rated on a 6 number scale, F0-F5 that primarily occurs during warmer months of the year in the central plain states. The storm has a heavy cloud base with a small funnel extending to the ground creating very high wind conditions. Should a tornado occur, you should seek shelter in a basement room with no windows and face the opposite direction the tornado is approaching. Taking shelter under a sturdy table in the basement or under a staircase increases safety even more.

Posted April 9th, 2008 by atnelsonI have picked my topic about the aviation technology department marketing campaign. I met with guidance counselors and aviation studnet council represenatives who give tours of the facilities for studnets, faculty, and the community. They would love the help of creating a brochure to hand out at tours and flyers to help market the tours in the community better. We plan on writing a proposal today and researching the topic better by the end of the week. Starting next we will create brochures and flyers and see if the guidance department likes the first draft or not.

Posted March 28th, 2008 by atnelsonLast semester I worked on a senior design team for AT408. The four of us were told to design and build an engine exciter mock up part to actaully fit on the PW4000 engine located at the Purdue airport. We finished the project weeks before the semester ended and got an A for the course. We were so succesful because we planned out project out in detail before we started any design or building concepts. The four of us found our respective roles and we divided the project up efficiently, which allowed us to finish the project so quickly.
