Posted May 3rd, 2008 by pmdowneyThis summer I will be getting married and living in Lafayette. I hope to be employed with a local golf course throughout the summer and into the fall. Next year is my final year at Purdue. In the fall I will be a part time student and only be taking 6 credit hrs. 3 of those hours is a methods course and the other 3 is teaching MA 153 here at Purdue. In the spring I will be student teaching, but that location has not been determined yet. Overall I am excited about this coming year (I mean being married and all).

Posted April 30th, 2008 by kellieI have changed it again. I was going to originally make a brochure about the vet clinic I work at, then I decided to make a better website instead, and now I am back to the brochure. There are a lot of older people who are clients, and after talking it over with some of the people I work with, we thought instead of an improved website, a brochure would be better since most older people do not have computers or do not know how to use the internet. It is not as exciting as before with the website, but I think it will be more helpful. I just have to compile everything and post it.
Tornado Definition
Posted April 30th, 2008 by kellieFrom a scientific standpoint, a tornado is a 'localized and violently destructive windstorm occurring over land characterized by a funnel-shaped cloud extending toward the ground' (princeton.edu). From a personal standpoint, it is the most terrifying thing in the world. When I was in the second grade, a tornado hit our elementary school, which is jsut three miles from our house. Its path was across one of my dad's fields across from our house. It hit three family friend's houses and killed my dad's best friend. A tree fell on our house.

Posted April 30th, 2008 by kellieOver the summer I am just going to be working. I took classes last summer but will not be doing it this summer, so nothing professionally wise/school wise will be going on for me. I am going to a lot of weddings, though! Two of my good high school friends are getting married and my cousin is, also. I am the maid of honor (eck!) in my cousins, so it is going to be a pretty busy summer for me. My best friend is moving back from Kentucky this summer to go to school here, so I am sure I will be busy with her, too. Other then that, I don’t think I have anything else going on!

Posted April 30th, 2008 by dennishsiaoAs many of you may already knew, I will be graduating this May. After the commencement, I will start of this summer by visiting my younger sister over at Seattle, Washington with my family. For the rest of the summer I will be traveling around the world, some of these stops include: China, Japan, and Taiwan. There is no set date for these traveling, itineraries will be planned as things go.

Posted April 29th, 2008 by suzanneBest wishes to all of you. I’ve always enjoyed how smart the ENGL 421 students are and this section was no exception. I had a lot of fun leading discussions and reading your assignments.
As I said in class, I will be leaving Purdue-- to join the English Department at SUNY-Oneonta, where I’m returning to full-time faculty status. I’ve included a link for any of you who need reference letters or just want to stay in touch.

Posted April 28th, 2008 by michaelalexanderI don't have any exciting plans so far, my summer will consist of working for a landscaping crew back home in Danville. I do enjoy that job I have an excellent boss, we both have a very trusting employee and employeer relationship. I hope I will be running a mowing crew again this year. In the fall plans are up in the air, it depends on if I get into Ivy Tech's nursing program or Purdue's nursing program. If I am accepted I will be attending school at either one of those schools. If I am not accepted I will be taking the Fall semester classes at Purdue.
