Bad High School Experience.... HELP!

In high school I really didn't get an enjoyable English/Writing experience. My high school teachers always did the same thing. We would do the cliché reports about an author here and a poetry project there. I never felt like I was breaking from the standard writing assignments I did in the fifth grade. It is sad to think that I received the most valuable knowledge about writing in fifth grade. In middle school and high school I just felt like it was repeating the same grammar topics and the same writing techniques, such as the five paragraph rule.

So I hope to take out of this class a lot. I do want to learn and gain knowledge and just because I had a bad writing experience in the past doesn’t mean I can’t start having a good one now. I’m not going to lie, but I’m looking forward to the projects this semester. They all sound pretty interesting. I really think I will take a lot from this class, but maybe I won’t.

I’m really not big on the whole writing thing because I think it is time consuming and sometimes really difficult to write about the same thing for a long time. After this class however, maybe I will have different outlook on writing. Hopefully, I will have a different outlook on writing. Smiling

Well I too had a horrible

Well I too had a horrible teacher in high school... I was in Honors English for freshman year and the teacher, Mrs. Brooks, just didn't set well with me. I finished out the year with an average grade. I took Honors again sophomore year and, lo and behold, the teacher had transferred to teaching that class. So I got to have her all over again. I was told that Mrs. Brooks taught regular junior level English classes so I took AP just to make sure I would get a new teacher and maybe actually learn something. Well, the teacher moved again and wouldn't you know it, she was my AP teacher. I hated her class with a passion because she was unfair, and I could never get my grade to where I wanted it. I went in to talk to her one day and she said that I had been telling students in lower grades how horrible her class was and that AP enrollment was down due to me and she refused to help me out with any questions i had. I ended up leaving her classroom crying but I stayed in the class, refusing to let her get the best of me... I ended up with AP credit in that class and a different teacher for English senior who I liked very much... In fact, she is starting an alpaca farm! You have to love a teacher who raises alpacas.
