Response to Projects
Andrea~ What type of mental illness are you looking at specifically? Are you going to go through the stages, and end with being out of the hospital? I'm really curious to see how this turns out, I think it's awesome that you're really trying to get in the mind of a mentally ill patient. Did you look at any you-tube videos or any medical videos with actual mentally ill patients talking? I feel like that may be beneficial to your writing.
Allison~ I would definitely say to be careful using the powerpoint, I would maybe say to look into making it more interactive. Have you ever explored the possibility of being in a long distance relationship? What do you think the main qualifications are for being in a long distance relationship that will work out? Do you have to have certain personality traits or have been in the relationship for a specific amount of time?
Emily~ I know in the presentation you focused mainly on the lows of a Peace Corps volunteer, are you considering focusing on the highs as well? I think it would be really effective to look at what a Peace Corps volunteer feels when they come back to the States. I also have looked into the Peace Corps, and I feel like it's going to be amazingly difficult to be in Africa for two years and then come back to the U.S. I feel like that could be a really cool thing to look into, if not for your paper but just for personal knowledge. I really like your medium for sharing it
Melanie~ Wow. crazy topic. I really like it though, I have a really hard time wrapping my head around it, but I'm all for hearing different points of view. I'm really curious to see how parents feel about their children being this way, and what the statistics are for getting married and being polyamorous. I feel like your journal may be a little bit more effective without the use of psychological jargon, so I would be careful using too much of that in your finished project.
Harini~ Can you explain a little bit more what a Bedouin woman is? I feel like I was a little bit confused the entire time. I would focus on maybe just one topic, either education or culture, just because I feel like it may currently be too broad. I would also try to make the powerpoint a little bit more interactive, it would make the entire presentation 'Pop' a little bit more
Joey~ I really like your idea, your medium of presentation, and the entire project. I would definitely look into what people feel when they come back home from the war, I think that will really hit home for a lot of people!
Overall, presentations are awesome guys. You all rock, and I'll actually miss our English class when it's over

Well for my project I am
Well for my project I am focusing specifically on schizophrenia. I did go through all of the stages of therapy, et cetera, for resolving the mental conflicts schizophrenic patients go through, and at the end my patient did get released. When I was doing my research I did look for YouTube videos but I couldn't find any serious ones... mainly it was normal people making fun of being mentally ill or it was like a researcher's project so it wasn't that great of a source for me. Thanks for your response!
