Austen's Blog

Writing these blogs is becoming tougher for me. Once I get going, it isn't so bad, but starting isn't all that easy. I don't know why, but I always have trouble breaking the barrier of what to write about. I think I prefer to be prompted in the case of the blogs, it makes life a lot easier. Maybe thats the point though...

Anyways, I just watched a movie called Pan's Labrynth and it was interesting to say the least. It basically told the story of a young girl in post-civil war Spain, who moves to live with her stepfather along with her very pregnant mother. The step-father - who just happens to be Captain Vidal a brutal captain of the Spanish Army is the bad guy of the movie more or less. The film is like a combonation of reality and fantasy. the girl is supposedly a princess from a different world ( I normally don't watch these kinds of films, but it was recommended to me and I was bored) and has been given 3 tasks in order to get back to her own world. Along the way, she has to deal with her ailing mother tough trials and a brutal step-father during a civil war. It's pretty interesting and complicated - and also in Spanish. I wish it had been in English, it would've made the special fx better seeing as I'd be able to focus on them not the subtitles. Anywho, thats the basis of the movie, I don't want to say more because it would ruin it. It's not bad - and if you are into a fantasy film, you'd probably enjoy it.
