i like to plan ahead
It has been placed on my heart lately that I jump ahead of the game and plan way too far ahead instead of enjoying the moment. It starts with little things like planning my weekend. Then I can plan my next weekend and the weekend after that and so on. It gets to be ridiculous, but once my weekends are planned I plan my next big break from college and the one after that. I am even starting to plan final projects for classes. It is insane. I sometimes even find myself planning my career and what I will be teaching and what I am going to do for my homework policy and everything like that. And I know that it comes from excitement but I also think it comes from habit. I just know that finally God has like "slapped my wrists" so to speak, and has told me that I need to give Him the pen to my life and He, Himself, will write me an amazing story. So today is all I can think about anymore and I have to admit it is awesome.

I sort of love you.
So, you do tend to plan your life. I know. However, I love that you realize that it's not a situation that is a good one, because usually it just breeds disappointment. We are never fully what we expect from life, so I really think it's best to just surrender life to God and realize that we will only do what is His will. Nothing else will work out, but life will also then be nothing short of everything it was meant to be. It's a struggle, because you do need to plan in order to fulfill God's will, but I'm sure that the real problem lies in planning without consulting God. Only in that instance are we truly sinning because we are ignoring the plan that God has for us and for His design for our lives.
