So, I made a documentary last year in my senior English class. It was a huge project I did instead of writing a paper. However, my documentary was very informative and very nicely put together. The documentary was on phobias, and we definitely made it scary and full of surprises. We used lots of the "documentary film techniques" that are on the "documentary film technique" paper. We did lots of reenactments with people that have phobias and we also interviewed a doctor that specialized in phobias. After we interviewed the man and watched the footage we realized that the guy was a little bit of a quack and a little odd, but we still used the footage. Now that I think about it our film had a little bit of a mockumentary feel to it. While we provided truthful information about phobias we definitely poked fun at it. It was a great project and I'm glad to be learning about real documentaries instead of making a really awful one!
