Yay for the first presenters.

First of all I would just like to tell all of you women, you did an amazing job. I know that at the end of the year it is hard to stay focused on projects and what not, especially when the weather is as gorgeous as it is outside. I could tell that a lot of work, thought and effort was put into each of the projects.

2058

First of all 2058 just looks like a weird number. I am not ready to have to write April 16, 2058 down on paper. Just thinking about it freaks me out. I wonder if we will have flying cars by then?

I just can't stay focused!

So spring break went way too fast. I had a great time it was full of many surprises and while I was ready to actually come back to Purdue I'm not ready to take on these last few weeks of class. There are only like 6 weeks left, including dead week and finals week. I'm ready for summer though, that is for sure. This next paper for English should not be that bad, and the final project won't be that bad either. As classes are coming to a close though, my longing to break free and... work for the entire summer grows.

i like to plan ahead

It has been placed on my heart lately that I jump ahead of the game and plan way too far ahead instead of enjoying the moment. It starts with little things like planning my weekend. Then I can plan my next weekend and the weekend after that and so on. It gets to be ridiculous, but once my weekends are planned I plan my next big break from college and the one after that. I am even starting to plan final projects for classes. It is insane. I sometimes even find myself planning my career and what I will be teaching and what I am going to do for my homework policy and everything like that.

Fast or Slow?

Does anyone else think its crazy that we are on our 6th week of class?

I made a documentary once

So, I made a documentary last year in my senior English class. It was a huge project I did instead of writing a paper. However, my documentary was very informative and very nicely put together. The documentary was on phobias, and we definitely made it scary and full of surprises. We used lots of the "documentary film techniques" that are on the "documentary film technique" paper. We did lots of reenactments with people that have phobias and we also interviewed a doctor that specialized in phobias.

Well.. my topic mixed with some rambling and something about "This I Believe"

Well first of all I like to say that I actually like the "This I Believe” project. I think that it is a great way to express yourself in a whole new way and it really does have an outside purpose, or it can. My topic is basically, live each day to the fullest, and tell the people that mean the most to you in this world that you love them. It’s a hard topic for me to write about in a sense that I am to dig deep personally and pretty much open up to the entire class.

Bad High School Experience.... HELP!

In high school I really didn't get an enjoyable English/Writing experience. My high school teachers always did the same thing. We would do the cliché reports about an author here and a poetry project there. I never felt like I was breaking from the standard writing assignments I did in the fifth grade. It is sad to think that I received the most valuable knowledge about writing in fifth grade. In middle school and high school I just felt like it was repeating the same grammar topics and the same writing techniques, such as the five paragraph rule.
