Presentations
Mon, 04/21/2008 - 19:37 — MegzI really enjoyed Allison’s presentation about long distance relationships. It was the perfect topic. Most of us know at least one person who is in a long distance relationship and it was great to look at what they are going through. It was also awesome to see the relationships that you looked at were going strong and working out. Allison also presented and formatted her information in a great way. I loved how the slides were time and they rolled on their own like a movie. However, one thing that you did not cover was what they went through if the relationship did not work out.
P.U.S.H..
Thu, 04/17/2008 - 16:21 — MegzSaturday morning I stood in the rain while helping out Block ‘N Bridle at Springfest. It was cold, but also a ton of fun. However, since then my nose is running, my throat is sore, and I have never sneezed so much in my life. I tried the over the counter medication, taking my vitamins, and drink gallons of orange juice. Even though I did everything I could to fight it, I got sick. I needed a doctor. However, I was scared of PUSH. I had heard that all they do is ask if you are pregnant or have an STD.
Laundry
Tue, 04/08/2008 - 12:41 — MegzIn my first year of college I learned a lot. Most of the time I think that I learned more outside of a classroom then actually in one. When you get to college you learn that some things are not necessities anymore. Today while doing laundry I kept thinking that it was more of a hassle than it was worth. Even though it is not that hard it takes time out of the day where you could be doing something else. And I am really cheap and hate spending money to do my laundry. I’m going home in 4 weeks, can I wait to do laundry that long?
Would you want to know?
Tue, 01/22/2008 - 18:58 — MegzWhile talking to a high school girl friend this weekend on the phone the topic of boys and the future came up. Both of us are struggling with this topic right now. She asked me if God was sitting next to me and offered to tell me who my future husband was going to be would I want to know?
Down Home Country Cooking
Tue, 01/15/2008 - 23:43 — MegzMy essay is about my belief in home cooked meals and eating as a family. I think this is where I learned family values and what my parents expected out of me. When I still lived at home my family sat down and at dinner together almost every night. We eat what is referred to as “down home country cooking.” We are the country loving, meat and potato kind of family. There is no meal like fried chicken and mashed potatoes, Mom’s apple pie to finish. This is where I was taught everything I know and the values that shape my life today.
Writing of the Past
Wed, 01/09/2008 - 14:29 — MegzI would say that I have a fair amount of writing experience. I took Honors English for the first three years of high school and AP English as a senior. Every year of high school I was required to write a research paper. I wrote on topics such as date rape, ethanol, and dress of the 18th century. As a junior, a group of 4 read books by one author. We then each wrote a research paper on a topic that the group of books had in common. We then combined our papers to form one larger paper. This project was not a pleasant one.
