Project Log for week 12: Finish the White Paper

Finishing the white paper proved to be a struggle, however, due to the help of the group we were able to get it finished. I think we worked well together and seeing as everyone has very busy schedules it was impressive to see it all come together and work out as well as it did.

Good to be done!

I agree with you about the busy schedule thing. Most of us had 3 exams this week and we still worked together to get this project done. I was worried that the fact that we were all really busy this week would get in the way of our work, but it didn't. I think that the best thing was that we all took care of our parts and did what we needed to do. Everything turned out to look really good. I am glad that we all pulled it together at the end to make a really good final draft!

Finishing up

It must feel good to have finally completed the white paper. I too agree with you on how hard it is to get your group together because of conflicting schedules. Our group ran into a bit of conflict setting up meeting times either in person or through online chat rooms. This class is very interesting with the fact of how the interaction is between everyone in a given group. This is the first class that I have actually experienced frustration on member participation and could do nothing about it; nonetheless I also think that it is definitely a great learning experience through different means of communication.

Scheduling Meetings / Time Availability

Once you start working in the corporate world, you'll realize how convenient it was to schedule meeting for this class. There are times when I've bought concert tickets a month in advance, only to give them away because my boss wants us to accompany him for a "casual dinner". When six of your peers are going, you can't decide to (or afford to? ) skip. You feel stupid, because you're missing your favourite band for such an inconsequential meal. But sadly, even in the supposedly "efficient and professional" environment of corporate America, this is a rather common occurence, So yes, the sooner we learn to accodmodate such meetings and make ourselves available with more flexibility, the easier it will be for us once we enter the corporate world.

*I miss those days when we never scheduled meetings for Fridays, because Thursday was Cactus night. (Krannert doesn't even have classes on Fridays, can you beat that? ) I envy you all. Smiling
