I also worked on a horse farm and for a party supplies rental company, but my work in these jobs was not relevant enough to finance for it to be worth space on my resume.
2. During high school, I worked as a volunteer at the front desk and helped with simple medical tasks at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
3. I was an intern for Fair Isaac, a computer consulting company, over the last two summers and for winter break this year. The first summer I learned to use company testing software to test a custom credit scoring system designed for Dell Financial. Last summer I became interested in computer graphics and worked as a content loader and web designer for various pharmaceutical web sites. I learned a lot about the business world in general. I also got extensive experience using Excel and other Microsoft Office tools to complete complicated tasks. I learned that I would enjoy traveling for work and having a flexible work schedule in the future.
Educational Experience
4. I have changed my career choice from Mechanical Engineering to Computer Graphics to Accounting and Finance during my time at Purdue. The courses most relevant to my current career choice have been my accounting classes and those engineering and CS classes that taught me valuable computer skills for data analysis. I also hope that my statistics courses will be relevant for data analysis in my future.
5. I was accepted into the honors engineering program at Purdue University and will receive a merit-based scholarship if my GPA is above 3.5.
Skills
6. I have excellent organizational skills. These skills have helped me be the president of the First Year Engineering Student Advisory Council and now the Purdue Accounting Association. I am also the manager of a band. These activities have taken up a considerable amount of my time, and I would have had even less time with poor organizational skills.
7. I took 4 course levels of Spanish in high school and received 6 credit hours on my college transcript for my tested knowledge.
8. I have extensive training in Microsoft Excel including VBA programming, which is useful for automating many kinds of administrative tasks and for data analysis. I have also had introductory training in C, MATLAB, XML, and HTML. Besides that I have experience in most all other Microsoft Office tools.
9. The computer is my main tool, but I am generally tech savvy and can work with networks, printers, copy machines, and other office equipment.
