I have learned how to work with many of the different computer programs that they use to keep track of all their files and driver information. I learned how to do a little bit of each of the managers jobs so I could get experience in every part of the building. Also, I have learned how to answer the phones and to be courteous to everyone that calls. This gave me a really good experience to work in a professional environment which I hope to be doing someday soon.
Educational Experience:
4. One of the courses that has taught me a lot was Communications because speaking in front of others is going to be a big part in management and that was one of my biggest fears. That class helped me to face my fears and it gave me a lot of experience with talking in front of a group of people. Another class that has taught me a lot was Computer Science because that taught me a lot more then I knew about excel, access and word. It gave me a lot of useful information for things that I will have to do someday during work.
5. I was awarded a position in the Recruitment corp. in high school. Teachers get together and pick out students who they feel can represent the school well while they go around to different grade schools to recruit students.
Skills:
6. One of my major skills is working well with others. I can work well by myself, but if needed I can work together with anyone to get a job done. Also, I think that I am a good leader in situations like that. I was chosen to be the captain of the colorguard my senior year which entails a lot of leadership qualitites and organization. This relates to management because being a leader and at the same time working together well in groups is what business is all about. I think a company would love to have someone who can be diverse like that.
7. I have taken spanish all throughout high school and I can understand a little when it is written, but I am not good with talking in spanish.
8. I know how to work well with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access, and Powerpoint. I have also done many projects with my internship entering large amounts of data into the computer for files.
