Class Debate

I found Wednesday's class to be very beneficial and interesting. It was good to interact with one another and share our opinions about the issue of college preparedness. Many people were able to share their feeling about how they were prepared for college, but I was not able to give my opinion. To be honest, I feel that high school was much harder than college is, which makes me feel that high school overprepared me for college. For example, my senior year in high school I took AP Calculus, which I felt to be a very demanding class. When I came to Purdue, I found myself taking college algebra, which is basically what I took in 8th grade. I am also in a criminal justice class, which I find to be extremely easy based on the fact that I took basically the same class in high school. Along with this, I feel that I have a much more time in college. I only have 2-5 classes a day, and most of the time I have a break between classes. In high school, I was forced to go from class to class and I had 7 classes a day. Overall, I feel that my high school definitely prepared me for college. Does anyone else have a similar situation?

It is interesting to hear

It is interesting to hear that you found high school more challenging than college in terms of classes. But, I am curious about another aspect, namely adjustment. As a foreigner I do not know much about the high schools in the United States, but my impression (I have to admit my impression comes only from the movies I have seen Smiling is that high school can be a tough period for students because of peer pressure and bullying. On the other hand, college is a big transition too, since leaving home, making new friends and being on your own can be very challenging. In terms of adjusting and fitting in, which one do you think is more challenging, high school or college?
