The short story Spikes was about a man named Kohn, his past realtionship, and his new relationship with his child neighbor. I thought the story was cute because although Kohn's son died at a very young age, he was placed in a position to somewhat be a father to his neighbor. Also, it was neat that although Kohn bought the new cleats for Bengt, Bengt's father in a way helped out because the two pennies were originally his. Now the cleats will have a special meaning to Bengt just like his uncle's cleats did. I am still left wondering if Kohn and Bengt's mother will have an interest in eachother.
