The Class Debate

I feel that class debate was beneficial, because it did show that most highschools are not providing enough to prepare the students for college. Especially when thats what high school is supposed to do, prepare you for college. Personally I do feel that my school for the most part did a good job in preparing me for college class. Granted some classes were not as beneficial as others. But one class that I feel was really beneficial was my AP Language and Composition class senior year.

Class Debate

I found Wednesday's class to be very beneficial and interesting. It was good to interact with one another and share our opinions about the issue of college preparedness. Many people were able to share their feeling about how they were prepared for college, but I was not able to give my opinion. To be honest, I feel that high school was much harder than college is, which makes me feel that high school overprepared me for college. For example, my senior year in high school I took AP Calculus, which I felt to be a very demanding class.

horizons student support program

Speaking of being prepared to college, there is a program offered by the Dean of Students, Horizons Student Support Program. I do not know whether you have heard of this program or not. If you are interested, here is the link for it
http://www.purdue.edu/horizons/
If you are familiar with this program or a part of it, can you share your experiences with us. If you have friends in other universities participating in similar programs, you are more than welcome to share what you know too. If not, you can write about what you would expect this program to provide for students.

Debate Class

I don't know about everyone else but I found yesterdays in-class debate to be rather enjoyable. I think we should have more oppurtunities to read argumentative articles and voice our opinions on them, especially since we never had this oppurtunity in high school. High school was more about keeping the peace inside the classroom and trying to do your best to get a good grade. If there is one thing my teachers in high school did forwarn me about college is that people here come a variety of backgrounds which means everyone is going to have their own opinions.

In The Spirit For A Blog

Well it has been a while since I have posted a blog on here, or well anyone has for a matter of fact. I hope everyone had an amazing Spring Break. I know I did even though I didn't go anywhere special. Now that we are back, we have arrived in the home stretch, the year is almost over. I'm sure it is going to fly by just like the rest of this year did. I hope everyone enjoys the time we have left here this school year. Study hard for finals when the time arrives, and have a good summer.

Response to agoenka's blog

I would like to respond to "agoenka's" blog. I definately agree with you about the start of the story. It keeps your attention and made me want to keep reading. It set the tone for the story and kept everyone's interest.

Response to vrothwel

I completely agree with you about the title of the book and the first story both being "Werevolves in their Youth". I thought it was very odd that one of the nine short stories would be the title. My reasoning of this choice would be that the author wrote this story to be the tone-setter of the rest of the book. The quirky relationship that Timothy and Paul shared can be compared to the relationships in the other two stories; with Kohn and Bengt and the professor and Dexter. All of their encounters are judged by thier peers.
