Potential Communications, Scott Dennis, 4/7/08, ElizabethD0201

After not being able to see a good way to effectively create a piece of communication for my original issue, I have decided to modify it. Originally, I had said that Campus Crusade for Christ here at Purdue does not have a consistent speaker and that was an issue for many people.

Another problem I see within the organization is that the staff members are not effectively communicating / preparing the student leaders (students who lead small groups or hold other responsibility) to reach other members throughout the organization and on campus. I personally have been affected by this because I am a small group leader and have had very little contact with any staff members, and even less direction. After brainstorming, I have thought of some potential forms of communication that could possibly bridge the gap between staff members and student leaders, that could even trickle down to members themselves.

The first form of communication that I could see being used here in our program is a website that would allow staff members to communicate to their student leaders. This could include resources, possible Bible studies, a means to inform students about potential opportunities to serve or committees to get involved with, etc. It could also have a place where students could communicate to the staff members.

Another form of communication could be a newsletter to share what is going on with the organization from time to time. This I don't see as being as effective because it would not be quite as recent and would not be interactive.

Another form of communication could be just a simple sheet that the staff could put out describing the responsibilities of a student leader and what it entails.

Sorry that I changed my mind, but I think that this will be much more useful in this organization
