I am a part of several organizations where communication could be greatly improved. The following is a list of a few of them:
*Undergraduate Advisory Group: A student based organization that meets with the staff of the Biological Department to help develop a better, more efficient science curriculum. It has been shown that communication between students and professors as well as communication between professors and the overseers of the curriculum have much room for improvement to develop a system that is the most benefical for both staff and students.
*Tippecanoe County Humane Society: I work here as a volunteer caring for animals without a home. Communication can be improved between the staff and volunteers as well as between staff and potential adopters.
*Blue Gate Restaurant: I have worked here as a waitress for the past five years. Because of the large seating capacity and number of employees, communication can often be put at the wayside making efficient service and customer satisfaction difficult at times.
*Raider Volleyball Coach: This year I began coaching for an AAU volleyball program stationed in West Lafayette. As a coach, I have seen the importance communication can have among players, between a coach and players, as well as between coaches and parents.
