Writing in Context
The job I applied for at Eli Lilly affected the cover letter I wrote as I had to include words from the job ad that applied to me. These words were words such as having a team mentality and the ability to be flexible. Using these words did not change the truth about me; however, having these words in mind as I wrote my letter did affect how I wrote the letter. Applying to this position did not make me feel as though I need to develop my experience more. After my sophomore year I completed an internship. Most students are unable to do this. Applying for this position helped to show me that I am doing well so far. There is always room for improvement. I will continue to seek internship experiences to help me be a well-rounded individual.

Project Management
The most difficult document to produce was the cover letter. I have been taught how to do a resume several times. I have never been good at producing a cover letter in the past; however, our class textbook made writing the cover letter easier for me. The format of the cover letter is one of the most significant changes I had to make to the cover letter. Apparently, I have never formatted my cover letter appropriately! I feel that I have planned my work for Eng420y well. I only have one class on Monday, Wednesday and Friday on campus, so these are the days where I have scheduled in time to complete my homework for this class. In the future I might give myself more than one day to complete the given assignments.

Research
The textbook was the most beneficial research resource for me. I felt the book did an excellent job thoroughly explaining cover letters. The least beneficial resource was probably the internet. With every internet search many sources come up, it is hard to know which ones are reliable. I learned a lot about Eli Lilly before completing my application letter. I learned that it takes ten to fifteen years for one new drug to be developed and that this process costs between $800 million and $1.2 billion dollars.

Teamwork
The peer feedback was a nice addition to this project. It has helped me see my resume and cover letter in a new light. My friends have helped me revise my cover letter and resume in the past, but the online reviews are helpful as I feel that people are able to be more honest and open. Responding to the work of others helped me to notice that I have font ‘hanging’ on the right side of my resume as I noticed others ‘hanging font’.

Document Design
The most effective aspect of my deliverables is the design layout of my resume. When speaking with recruiters at job fairs, I always seem to receive compliments on the design layout of my resume. They have said that it is easy to find the information that they are looking for in the resume. It is true that recruiters ‘scan’ resumes. During their scan they are able to find all relevant information in my resume. I do not feel that I have deliberately adapted an unusual or creative way of doing this
