4pts. ~ RR is of the required length (300 words) and is on time; reflects a more superficial level of engagement; does not engage students in additional conversation

3pts. ~ RR is short of word count or late; reflects understanding of reading; perhaps it engages others

2pts. ~ RR is short of word count or late; includes any engagement with reading; does not invite further conversation from other students; does not offer anything particularly interesting or profound

1pt. ~ RR is short of word count or late; reflects minimal effort

Comments/Replies may earn up to 3 points each

3pts. ~ Comment offers an interesting new dimension not raised in the original post; reveals evidence of real grasp of the reading; likely invites additional responses or questions

2pts. ~ Comment provides some new dimension to the original post that is constructive to the point being made or to a new point

1pt. ~ Comment offers something (something, anything)
