Reflection

1. Why did you choose this job ad? Do you feel that you are qualified for the position?

I chose this job because it is a marketing internship position. This internship would be a great learning experience as well as an enjoyable and rewarding way to spend my summer. I meet and exceed all of the qualifications for the position except the graduation requirement. The position wants to hire college students who are currently in junior or senior standing and I am only a sophomore. I am confident I am very qualified in my experience, education, and work ethic. If I was a year older I would be sure to apply for this position, and I hope in coming years more jobs like this will be available for me to apply to.

2. How long has the ad been posted? If it has been posted for a long period of time, are you sure that the position is still available? How?

The position was posted December 28, 2007, and it will remain posted until January 27, 2008. I know it is still available because it lists the interview date on February 13, 2008.

3. Where is the company located? Are you willing to move if it is out of state or in a foreign country?

The company is located in Oak Brook, Illinois. I live in Indianapolis, but I am willing to relocate. The company also offers temporary housing assistance which I could take advantage of.

4. Why is living in the area that the company is located appealing to you?

Living in Oak Brook is very appealing to me. The city is a suburb of Chicago and is only twenty minutes away from downtown Chicago. City life is very attractive to me. I would love to live down town, or near such a big central city. I have only traveled to Chicago a few times but I love that there is so much to do. Chicago has great shopping, attractions, and night life.
