Potential Communications, Rebecca Longster, 4/7/08, FrankieL0101
Posted April 7th, 2008 by FrankieL0101Wal-Mart has many communication problems, ranging from asking for days off, to simply knowing a little bit about your co-workers. I have come up with a few ideas to improve these communication barriers.
• Have a team meeting throughout the day at down times.
• Organize a system (not computer) that is more efficient for asking/taking days off.
• Cancel the 1-800 number that must be called to call in an absence or tardy.
• Have supervisors and managers really around not just in back offices so we known teams of management and safety teams.
Organizational Choice, Rebecca Longster, 4/2/08, FrankieL0101
Posted April 2nd, 2008 by FrankieL0101The organization I chose to do this project over will be Wal-Mart. The communication processes there are so tough that you never really get that “family feel” that is supposed to be displayed throughout the store with the fellow employees.
Potential Organizations, Rebecca Longster, 3/31/08, FrankieL0101
Posted March 31st, 2008 by FrankieL0101My potential organization list includes:
1) My job (Wal-Mart)
2) Child Development Center (Volunteer)
3) PASE Club
With Wal-Mart the communication can be greatly improved. There is a chain of people and you never really know who's under who and even who you may need to talk to. The Child Development Center and the PASE Club are both more of a tight knit groups. The chemistry and feedback there would be great for this type of project.
Individual Work(b)log, Rebecca Longster, 3/21/08, FrankieL0101
Posted March 21st, 2008 by FrankieL0101This week our team met on Sunday to put together our first draft of our White Paper "Underage Drinking". The section Lowering the Age Limit was given to myself and Jillian Bennet. We worked seperately finding different information and then at the meeting we compromised and cut things that were the same. At the meeting we worked on our MLA format as well as the design of the white paper. No one on our team was familar with Publisher, so Erika Hoover did her very best and put together a great final first draft.

Reading Response Week 8, 2/29/08 FrankieL0101
Posted March 1st, 2008 by FrankieL0101I always appreciate these examples we get when starting a new topic; I really feel like seeing the comparison between the Sophos white paper and the not-so well designed white paper will help my team and I. It was really hard to see even try and read the non-Sophos paper. It was weird when I noticed that I had made it thru the longer paper with no problems and without losing interest, but when I turned to read the paper that was shorter in length, it was so much harder to actually get thru it.
Underage Drinking: Work(B)log, Rebecca Longster, 2/27/08, FrankieL0101
Posted February 28th, 2008 by FrankieL0101As of now, I haven't been the most help to my group. Being that I was the 5th member of our group, I was added and little late and it was kind of hard for me to get started. It was a somewhat smoother transition because my individual proposal was pretty close to my individual proposal. We are currently setting up a our second meet up time, so we can get together and get more in depth with our project. I'm really ready to get more into this project and think i'll be a great addition to this project. These are just some of the sites that I'm giving to the group.
