Much of my scholarly work is in rhetorical theory, digital and visual rhetorics, film, and publishing. I teach courses in professional writing and rhetoric, including research methods, business writing, digital publishing, multimedia writing, Kenneth Burke, and mentoring. Lately, I have become more interested in emergence and complexity theory.
In late 2002, I launched Parlor Press, an independent scholarly press that publishes work in a variety of subject areas and in print and multimedia formats. Twelve series editors and I collaborate throughout the review, production, promotion, and distribution process. Already, more there are more than 150 Parlor Press authors working on more than 75 new projects.
