Professional Writing on Purdue Island in Second Life

Professional Writing is building on Purdue Island in Second Life! To check it out, you'll need these directions for access to the island. Of course, you'll need to get a (free) account first and download the free Second Life viewer (aka "client") software. Start here for that: http://secondlife.com/. Once you are in-world, try this:

Our Purdue Island has guest access. The Purdue Guest group has open enrollment and it allows access to the Island. To join the group, follow the steps below:

• Click the Search button.
• Click the Groups tab.
• Enter the name of the group named Purdue Guest in the Search box.
• Click on "Purdue Guest" to see more information.
• Click on the group entry "View Full Profile" button.
• The join button appears above the Owners and Visible Members listing and right below the Group Insignia graphic. There is no Linden cost to join this group.
• Click on the join button.

Once you have become a Purdue Guest, you will be able to search for "Purdue University." In the search box, type that into the "Find" field. The "Region: Purdue University" will be the first link. Click on it, and then teleport to the center of the island.
