About the Officers

Brandon Patton
Brandon Patton is a senior from DeMotte, Indiana, which is located in the middle of nowhere in a cornfield, like most small Indiana towns. This is his first semester within the Professional writing field. Brandon has changed to several majors, including biology, biomedical engineering, Secondary English Education, and now resides happily with Professional Writing, with a minor in Organizational Leadership and Supervision. Brandon spends most of his time tinkering with things on the computer and writing short stories on the side. Brandon works for ITaP and has taught himself everything he knows about technology. Any questions regarding computer technical help and productivity suites should be directed towards him.

Julie Jansen
Julie is a senior from Greenwood, Indiana, which is located just south of Indianapolis. She is majoring in both English and Professional Writing and pursuing minors in French, Anthropology, and Creative Writing. Besides working as the editorials intern at Purdue Marketing Communications, a post she has held since July 2006, she is also a Business Writing Consultant (BWC) in the Writing Lab, where she serves the BWC Publicity Coordinator. Among her passions is grammatical correctness -- She has high hopes for the eventual installment of the English language's first-ever singular non-gender-specfic personal pronoun, thus eradicating the need for the cumbersome "he/she" construction. Julie also has slightly less eccentric tastes, however... She enjoys dancing, and danced competitively for 15 years before coming to Purdue. A former member of the Purduettes, she also likes to sing. In her free time, she enjoys writing and reading.

Beth Kaniewski
Beth Kaniewski is a senior from South Bend, Indiana, double-majoring in Creative and Professional Writing. This is her third year in the PW Club and has previously held the positions of Secretary and President. Her other activities include working for Purdue’s Special Collection and Archives Library in Stewart Center and interning for the PW department as a Crouse Scholarship in Print/Electronic Publishing recipient for the second year in a row. She enjoys relaxing and napping in her free time and prefers writing to any other form of communication. Beth credits her twin sister, Sara, for keeping her competitive as she prepares for her final year at Purdue.

Bonnie Stockwell
Bonnie Stockwell is a senior majoring in Professional Writing and minoring in French, forensic science and communication. She looks forward to working with the PW club on top of classes and other activities. She works at a local radio station (WBAA) as a student host and news producer. She's also involved in her church's college ministry. She is excited and, honestly, feels a bit anxious about her post-graduation plans; but she know things will work out because they always do. Journalism, graphic design, creative writing, photography, script writing, directing, and nursing (as well as a combination of all that) are a few of the careers she's considering. It'll be interesting and cool to see what happens.

Joelle Prokupek
Joelle is a senior in the technical writing track of Professional Writing, formerly a major in Electrical Engineering, with minors in Spanish and HIstory. She hails from Auburn, Indiana, near Fort Wayne. She is currently employed at Pappy's Sweet Shop in the Union (you should visit her!), but plans to move to one of the new Union restaurants when they open. Joelle enjoys reading, writing, and playing video games in her free time.

Adam Strantz
Adam Strantz is a senior in the field of Professional Writing at Purdue with a
minor in computer technology. He hails from South Bend and this is going to be is third year in the PW club. His hobbies include writing and web design (understandably) as well as drawing and reading. Adam hopes that PW Club remembers to take wrong turns, talk to strangers, climb over walls, and always ave a slip of paper and a pen ready for the result.
