Hi guys,
Here is an annotated version of your report. I think I found the latest draft.

There are a lot of comments, but many of them are small-to-medium editing issues.

One larger suggestion: consider adding an abstract or executive summary.

Hope this helps. Feel free to post or email any questions.

This report still looks a lot like it did before. While you have good data, the write-up could use some work; there's definitely room for improvement in the report itself. Here are some suggestions:

1. Make it clear at the beginning that you did a usability study of the OSDDP website and are reporting your results. That's not really mentioned until pgh 4.

2. I agree with Alex and Becky to better define the study. Maybe you could have a short section called Methods that says you did a survey and interviewed Charlie.

3. Your report should respond to Charlie's email... show that you have read it and thought about it.

4. The first sentence talks about suggestions. What are they? WHERE are they? I think you need a conclusion that lists your recommendations.

5. I agree with Joe et. al. to consider front matter like a title page and a table of contents. Also, what about an abstract? or executive summary?

The report is layed out in a very easy to understand format. I liked how the question that was asked was put in the bar graph. One thing I didn't see was a correlation between a persons interests and their computer skills. Overall, looks good

The document looks really good. Its structured well, and all the graphs are clear and explained. It has a lot of content; my only suggestion to you is to maybe add a table of contents and a cover page, that would really give you document a professional look.
Good job.

Everything seemed pretty in depth and precise, the only suggestion that cam up was formmatting the section where you talk about the questions into a Q/A format rather than paragraphing.

I took a quick look at your task list and it seems to be logical to me. One thing that I would recommend was to add more detail, such as who you will make the survey for (audience).

I agree with Paul that you should clarify (in print) the audience for your survey. Since you mentioned novice users at one point, maybe add that to the task list.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by contacting the designers. Are you going to interview them, ask them to look over your suggestions, just email them questions, or what?

Finally, it would seem more logical (at least to me) to go over your feedback before you start listing possible improvements. I do like that you have some hypotheses about the site going into the study, but you should probably review your research results before drawing conclusions (you know, in accordance with scientific method and all that...).

Quite professional looking. The sans-serif headings are very readable. Here are some suggestions:

1. Add a column specifying who's doing each task. I'll explain the rationale for this idea in class on Fri.

2. Your task list has 6 tasks but your Gantt chart has 4. Won't that get confusing?

3. I saw one typo ("Taks 2").

Good start-- clearly numbered and subdivided, with good beginning and end steps. It's a nice idea to include both positives and negatives-- that shows rhetorical savvy!

As we said in class, it's a good idea to move it out of the worksheet into its own file.

Some other suggestions:
1. Include usability testing in your task list.

2. Don't specify that the final report should be split up among group members, because a different group might decide to use a different collaborative writing model. Maybe you could say something like: "decide how to draft report as a group-- divide up, cowrite, etc."

grumpy p.s. about the OSDDP's usability : It would be nice if the issues part of this OSDDP site also listed page numbers up top. It is a pain to scroll all the way down p. 1 if you KNOW the issue you want to read is on p. 2.

Well expained document. It would be better if you combine tasklist and schedule.

You guys have a lot of good stuff in here. I was impressed by the research in the appendices and by the completeness of your plan.

In addition, your first section lays out two clear goals for the site: "first timers can easily navigate this website and easily figure out what the website is all about." I think those are logical goals and they lend themselves well to usability testing.

A few suggestions:
1. In the second section, the process proposed for documentation, you need to say more about how you plan to do the actual testing. Are you going to survey our class? Watch and time new users as they navigate the site? In other words, be specific about your methods.

2. pg 2, which is a very detailed audience analysis, could probably be condensed a little (or turned into an appendix) and made more specific to Purdue students.

Good luck--
Suzanne
