Description

For Project 3: Marketing Materials, our group decided to market the iPod. There are many directions that we could take this project while marketing the iPod. After we have our proposal we will be able to set the specific details as to which type/model of the iPod family we will focus on as well as what the main focus of that type will be.
As of right now, our targeted audience is college-aged people. Hopefully since each of our group members are within this age group it will be easy for us to make our project appealing to our audience.

As of right now, our targeted audience is college-aged people. Hopefully since each of our group members are within this age group it will be easy for us to make our project appealing to our audience.

In order to draft our proposal for Project 3 we decided to take the questions/prompts from the “Developing Marketing Materials: Document Specification” that we read and discussed and answer each one. In order to do this we decided to go with the divide and conquer idea to make it easier on all of us. Each person in our group is going to make a response to some of the questions and then we will put our ideas together and see what we come up with. After we have everyone’s ideas we will make our final proposal for our marketing project on the iPod.

I think you have a really good marketing material here. It is relevant to lots of people. and really... who doesnt LOVE their Ipod!? I think its a few small things to change.

- The photos of the Ipods on the cover slide that are white aren't really visible. Perhaps put a differnt picture that shows up? or just a different background? or even a border or something behind it so that it sticks out- they are very crisp so you should emphasize them!
-on the "you may ask slide.." (4) check the quotations you used.
-SLide 5,6,8,27-- same issue as the cover- cant really see the white Ipods- especially the nano.
Slide 8- I think there are just too many words- perhaps break down the wording to be shorter and more conise/to the point.
-On the reviews slide- I would check some of those fonts to make it a bit clearer.
-I think u have TOO many features listed for the different types of Ipods- I would try to focus on the key ones that set it apart from others. It is just too much to comrehend

Basically- because so many Ipod pics are white, I would suggest using a darker background so that it all shows up well instead of finding different pictures. Perhaps one that is a bit more professional looking? I just think your pictures are very crisp and you shouldnt try to find new ones and instead a new background will be easier and get the job done!
ALso- I think that you have a lot of words on the slides in the second half of the presentation- it is hard to get through it all. Especially slide 21 and 24. I would suggest breaking it down to plainer English or just making it 2 slides instead of one.

That's all I have. I think you did a great job.. these are just some minor issues to be worked out... GOOD JOB AND GOOD LUCK!!

I really liked your presentation. Your group did an excellent job making the presentation professional in format. The background was perfect for your style of slide show. Also, the pictures you showed with each slide were well thought out. I found your survey very interesting. Great idea! The only suggestion I have is that on some of the slides there is too much information. I would slim that down to the main point. Also, since there is so much information that caused your font to be too small. With cutting the information down, you should be able to make a larger font. Everything else looked great. Good job!

Hello Group-

I really like you presentation on iPods and all the features they have. I really like the colors and background you use to make you presentation visually appealing. I can tell that you knew exactly what you wanted your presentation to look like. I actually recognized the bubbles in the background because our group used a template in publisher that had them. Anyway, the only thing that I could think of to revise your work is to trim down some of the phrases in your presentation. When you were giving the specifications for the nano, pocket, and standard iPod, you went into great detail. That is fine, but you probably only want to give your reader a taste of the features present on the iPod. So, you could include only the biggest selling points of each different player. I also liked your use of graphics for each area, like car use and home use. It really helps the reader visualize the different uses of the iPod. That’s all I can think of. Overall, good presentation!

I'm going to be a little critical at first. The background wasn't very professional, I wouldn't have used it in any presentation. I kinda just skimed through the first couple of slides because it was more about the company than the iPod. I like how you compared it to Sony and MP3. I think you could have talked a little more about the iPod itself (advantages, disadvantages, what it is used for, etc.) rather than going straight to "What is the right one for me". Actually you might as well just take that slide out. I think it flows better if you just go right to talking about each type. There is a lot of text on each slide, try to condense all this it will look better. It makes me not want to read it. I like all the pictures they are colorful and add a lot to the presentation. I like the "What's Hot" slide. It shows us what is new in the market. Your powerpoint makes me feel like Im browsing a web page and not a persuasive presentation. In the later slides the text gets smaller and hard to read. I like how you added in how Purdue students have used the iPod. Slide 26 is great, if you could make your other slides like this then the presentation would be easy to read and more affective, i think. The two slides that discuss Purdue should be together not separated by other slides. I like the last slides that tells us where we can purchase an iPod. It seems you guys put a lot work into this presentation, however, with a little sprucing up i think it could be a lot better. Good Job!
