Response Activity to Faber
In "Community Action and Organizational Change," Breton Faber argues that language plays a role in creating the atmosphere, actions, beliefs, and behaviors at specific organizations, such as a school like Purdue. Some of this langauge takes the form of official university policies, and some of it is the way students, staff, and others talk about the university.
Research Resources
Most students will probably need to find a combination of policies/laws, statistics on their change, and possible instances of previously successful enactments of their proposals. To do this, I suggest the following sites:
Research Question
On your blog, do four things in response to Chapter 6 reading:
- Provide a research question for your advocacy project similar to the research questions described in the chapter (it may be one or two related questions).
- Tell us what type of question(s) your research question falls under.
- Tell us what you need to research about your audience.
- Tell us what you need to research to answer your question.
Call the blog "Research Question."
