Visual Aid for Advocacy Campaign

This is the visual aid for my public advocacy campaign. I plan on sending it through the mail as an informational card, so the image shows the front and back of my visual aid.

Faber Responses

The Campus Crime Statistics Policies and Procedures defines Purdue by upholding the well being and security of it's students and campus. Purdue University is commited to providing a safe and secure environment for it's students and faculty. By making security and keeping tabs on the crime rates at Purdue university, Purdue is able to fully commit the majority of its efforts on the Campus Security Act. Purdue is able to run the way it does based on their level of commitment to maintaining the security of the campus, their students, and faculty.

Research Questions

Research Questions:

How challenging is it for a Purdue students/parents to find adequate child care near campus (if they are able to find any)? - This question is a value type question.

Are the surrounding child care services near campus realistically afforadable and available for Purdue students/parents? - This question is a fact type question.

Allowing 21 year olds to drink in resident halls on Purdue's Campus

For my public rhetoric campaign I chose to why 21 year olds can not drink in the resident halls even though they are of legal age. My specific proposal is that I believe students who of legal age to consume alcoholic beverages should be allowed to consume alcohol whenever they live on to attend Purdue University; off campus, resident halls, soroities, and fraternities. This topic is a reasonable pulbic campaign because I do not feel it is fair for those who are of legal age to drink to still be told they are not allowed to in their place of living.

Visual Text Analysis

For my visual analysis I am going to analyize two bumper stickers. The comprehensive statement I have roughly developed for my visual aids is :Both political parties, liberals  and republicans, attempt to get their view across by sarcastically downgrading the other political party, instread of just strongly stating their own political views and opinions. I find of the bumper stickers extremely intruiging because both have the same color scheme and both include a sarcastic witty bash against the other political party.

Article Description for Rhetorical Analysis

I chose to do my rhetorical analysis on the article, Smoking Out the Kids. There is no author included in the article. The article was published on September 6th, 2008 on chicagotribune.com. The indiviual who wrote Smoking Out the Kids is against underage smoking. However, he feels that parents scolding and yelling at their children is not enough to get underage children to quit smoking. The unknown author voices his opinions supporting the ticketing of underage children smoking.
