The policy I decided to discuss is the Policy Relating to Adverse Weather Conditions.  This policy talks about what Purdue University will do if the school is faced with severe, such as heavy snowfall, tornadoes, or wind chills.  Purdue's purpose in this policy is to create a safe environment for their staff and students if such conditions should occur while school is in session.  Because the conditions are so different, Purdue talks about each in different paragraphs because the procedures for each condition are so different from each other.  This policy defines Purdue

This policy is the non-smoking policy of Purdue University. In brief it does not allow smoking within 30 feet (10 meters) of University buildings, University buildings and allows it in designated areas. This shows that Purdue is willing to protect the health of those who do not smoke but also defend the rights of smokers whenever possible.

This policy defines Purdue as a university that is aware of the dangers of second handsmoke and that they want to do want is best for the people involved with the university.  The university does not want to tarnish its credibility with the negative image that smoking has come to attain

The policy that I chose relates to actions that should be taken in the event of adverse weather conditions.  It regards three of the most commonplace conditions that are most likely to occur in this section of the country.  These incluse heavy snowfall, tornadoes, and wind chill.  Throughout the policy to states all the steps that should be taken in the even that any of these things were to occur.  This policy helps to define Purdue in the way that they are showing that they care about the students and faculty, they want everybody to be safe during these situat

A rather important policy that helps to define Purdue and the atmosphere at Purdue is the ’Social security policy’. This policy stipulates that Purdue will use its students, staff, and faculty’s social security numbers only when it is required by law or when identifying a person to their PUID.
