I think that these two readings on how to cite sources are important to us as college students for many different reason. First of all it is important to know because almost any class that requires you to write a paper at Purdue also requires you to cite your sources. Not just in any format either, you need to make sure that you pay close attention to which format your instructor is looking for. Secondly it is important because if you don't cite your sources or forget to do them you can get yourself into a lot of academic trouble for not doing something as simple as writing down the book you took one sentence out of in proper format. These readings did a good job of going over the proper way to format citations and it's always good to get information like that refreshed into your mind.
