Final deadline for revised technical marketing documents

As I've mentioned in class, the final deadline for revised technical marketing documents is midnight on Tuesday, December 11.  Most, if not all, groups should be able to complete document revisions during class today -- but in the event that you can't, or if you foresee needing two revisions to earn your desired grade, you'll have until next Tuesday to complete project revisions.

Tracy's blog 9: review of InDesign templates (ATTN: 12:30 class!)

First off, my apologies to the 12:30 class, which had to endure InDesign freezing up in the middle of my demonstration of how to apply/change color and apply a color tint within a text/image box.  It turns out that not only do users need to have at least 11 MB of space left in their Career Accounts to open the program, there also needs to be enough space to run the program through three 50-minute classes.

Again, the 12:30 class will revisit those particular tasks during the first 5 minutes of class on Wednesday....

FFGV Design Specs

For our technical marketing project for the FFGV we plan to use the program: Adobe Indesign CS3; however, we are not ruling out any the use of any additional software including but not limited to: Microsoft Word, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Publisher, and Paint. The tasks we hope to complete with Adobe Indesign CS3 inlude picture placement, text placement, background art, and any miscellaneous formating styles. We are still planning on using a double sided flyer for completion of this project, where the front side includes eye catching pictures and graphics, along with key action statements.

Tracy's blog 8: document design and technical marketing documents

Technical marketing documents are produced with specific attention paid to document design. As we discussed last week in relation to rhetoric and technical marketing documents, writers and designers make a series of key decisions related to the product, the manufacturer, target audiences, availability of resources used to produce the document, and the document’s point of distribution.
