I have always wanted to open my own pub/restaurant complete with a micro-brewery. I realize this isn't a innovative idea or product, but it is the reason I am taking ENTR 200. If anyone else is interested in the service or restaurant industry, I'd love to work with you on this concept.

I always need little things and don't want to spend a lot of money just for something like wrapping paper and have to drive a ways to get it. I think opening a dollar store on chauncey hill would be a great idea, because not only do people need cheap stuff because we are poor college students, but a lot of people don't have cars and don't want to walk for 30mins to get there. I know this isn't a new idea of the store and all, but it is a change and I believe if there was a dollar store on campus it would be very successful.

I worked on a golf course for four years and I think owning a golf course would be pretty cool. I know it is very difficult and stressful but with the right people you can make anything successful.

I'd like to put a club on campus that is available for people under 21. I feel like there is nothing for people to do on campus besides go to bars and I imagine that 3/4 of the student body is under that age. I know I won't be 21 until I'm a senior. The club would basically just be a dance club with multiple themed rooms and would provide something for the under 21 year olds on campus to do. I'm in a social fraternity and I still get bored on campus.

I would open a party rental store. It would have everything you would want to rent for your parties. This would include moonwalks and table in chairs. There aren't that many rental companies out there and the ones out there usually only specialize in either tables and chairs or like moon bounces. By having it all in one company it would allow customers to just go to one place to order their rental needs.

This would be a flash application, or ASP/ASP.net application that would allow a user to login into all his web 2.0 communities, like Facebook, mySpace,Flickr and etc. It would then allow them to view all their wall posts, blogs, and reply to other. Also, allow for them to upload new photos to these places.

The people in those videos are completely crazy which is perfect for this project. I envision a game that will overwhelm the user with adrenaline filled off-road situations like the ones you just witnessed. The user will have the opportunity to experience extreme off-road first hand, which I call the "MUD-N-GUTS Experience". The web address, www.mud-n-guts.com, has already been secured, but the final medium for the product has not been determined. This project is still in the early development phase and is open to interpretation. The real goal is to figure out whether or not a project like this is feasible and potentially viable in the marketplace and not creating the game itself.

Nowadays teenagers and college students are very vain about their appearances and fashions. This also means that they are willing to spend on apparel and shoes. What I intend to do is shoe customization, a company that does special, unique and "limited edition" designs on shoes, such as any kinds of cartoons, pattern designs and even faces or pictures that customers would wish to have on their new shoes. This would allow teenagers and college students to have the freedom to have whatever they like on their shoes rather than having to buy what have been designed on the shelves. I believe that a great idea would be to open up a beauty salon and a barber shop that is set up to be a mobile business. I have noticed that while doing many of my client’s hair that they find it more convenient if you can meet them where they are. I know that this business can be a success because college students, especially females like to keep their image up. I believe that having your hair done will increase self- esteem, which will in turn help raise people’s grades. The prices will be set at affordable prices and the hairdresser’s will be licensed and very experienced. Our goal will be to give you the best quality of hair service for a minimum price at minimum time.

I have always wanted a casual dining/sport bar. There would be big TVs all over the place and have pool tables in the background. In addition, having a brewery and a bar selling house brewed beer. All of this would attract people in for the big games on TV and just to hang out on the weekends.

I like to sleep with a fan blowing on me. I think that it would be nice to have a small fan with an alarm clock built in. I don’t think that it would be hard to produce and it could be really popular.

Something I have wanted to do for a long time now is open an online business that only sells T-shirts and backpacks.I want to market it strictly to high school and college students and I want to get a variety of different guest artists and designers to do shirts and backpacks. Also, the biggest part of my idea is to allow students to upload their own t-shirt ideas and designs into the system made via photoshop and other design tools. Once the shirt is approved by the site administrators it will get put into a database of t-shirts that anyone can search through and order as many as they want. Basically, this allows for people to create their own t-shirts and order just 1 for themselves if they want to. Usually if someone wants to do this, they have to make a design and take it to a silkscreening business. Normally it is over 25 dollars if only 1 t shirt is ordered. I want my business to sell all t-shirts at around 10 bucks. Hopefully that isn't really confusing. Hit me up if you would like to work on this with me.

Boxes would be located at universities in various places all over campus. The goal would be to be in the malls or major walking paths of the campus. Boxes would serve cold and hot sandwiches with sides like pickles, apples, and baked chips. We would also serve bottled water and juices. Everything would be pre-made so the lines would move fast. Many students only have 10-15 minutes in-between classes and may not have time to walk all the way across campus to get something to eat or to stand in long lines. Boxes would be open from 10:20am – 4:30pm. Nothing at Boxes would cost more than $2.00 and the food would be nutritious.

Even though it is not very innovative, one thing that studnets at Purdue could use is a conveniently located pharmacy/drug store.
As far as an innovation goes, one thing that my father always complained about (being in an upper-management position) was people in the business world's inability to write good business documents. We talked about this one day and thought of the idea to start on online editing company, Better Letter, which allows businness men and women to set up accounts and log into the website anytime they need to write a business document (letter, fax, email, etc.). We would have corresspondents available on demand during certain hours of the day, and a next day response system for odd hours. I am not sure what the billing system would consist of, but I think this would reap positive feedback if marketed well.

I would like to start my own Automovtive Customization shop. This would NOT be for import cars. This would be more of a classic car restoration and hot rod shop. Newer cars would be suitable as well. The shop would contain a restoration area and a performance parts sales vanture. There are not a lot of automotive resoration shops anymore, but their are quite a few parts shops. With the restorations using our parts and selling the parts as well, I think this venture could be very successful.

Every girl should have a rich friend with an exellent wardrobe who is the same size as they are.

That's the basic idea for my website, which would operate sort of like a dating site. A person could enter their size, their personal style or favorite name brands, their area code and be matched up with another person so that they could both expand their wardrobe by two fold!

The target audience would be girls in their late teens and early twenties.
Money would be made by selling advertisment spaces to fashion retailers...or something.

I think that opening a store that sold wild game venison sausage (deer) buffalo steaks, ostrich meat and other meats and cheeses would be a good idea. Many of the students that live on this campus like to hunt and fish; however they find it hard to enjoy nature’s fruits when attending school. This shop would be comparable to a butcher shop, but it would not offer the standard beef, pork, and chicken. Many people are very stuck in their way and do not like trying new things. Also many of the students are now health conscious these days and most wild game is very low in fat and is actually healthier for you.

My idea for a business is an online personal organization web site. The site would be a multi-faced site, that would have date books and calendars on them for you personally. Every member would have his or her own log on and pass word, then it would take them to their "locker" so to speak, and have all the tasks or dates that thay have previously saved. The website would also act as a storage device too, email, you name it. If you do not have enough space on your hard drives or flash disks, simply save files to the online data base. I have other interactive ideas to go along with the site as well.

I would like to look into offering personalized entertainment on airplanes. This would include DVD player rentals with unlimited video selections for the flight duration and also offering passengers to purchase magazines and news papers. I think this could help fill a void in the airline industry, which seems to have forgotten about the customers in the past few years.

I would like to open a Ice Rink somewhere near purdue. It would be open to all ice based sports, but designed to support the purdue Hockey team.

I'm sure I saw something like this once a long time ago, but I haven't seen it since. With the popularity of portable DVD players, I have an idea to set up a movie rental business at airports. Consumers could rent popular DVD's at the airport from which they depart, watch the movie on the flight and return it at their destination. Credit cards would have to be taken to provide security for people who would try to walk off with the DVD's. Portable videogames could also be rented.

Another similar idea I had catered more towards those with video iPods. A computer kiosk could be set up with a port that would connect to the iPod. At this kiosk you could rent your movie with a credit card or perhaps a cash slot like on vending machines, hook up your iPod and sync it. After your flight, or an extended period of time, the movie would erase itself from your iPod. It'd be a convenient way to make flights more enjoyable and be entertained by something other than the in-flight movie which is usually lame.

Last summer I thought about putting together a website where new bands could upload their music. When you go to the page, it'd be like hot or not, where you could listen to a minute or so of a song, rate it, then another song would start to play. Top songs and bands would be promoted on the front page in effort to get them noticed. Also, each band would have its own profile page where you could listen to all of their songs and perhaps even download them since they are not under a record label.

My family has a small farm in southern Indiana. In the past couple years we have toyed around with some ideas for want my family can do to continue the farm to be profitable. One of my favorite ideas would be turning it into a winery and bed and breakfast.

The location of the farm is in Ripley County, and a person can make it from the farm to Indianapolis, Louisville, or Cincinnati within a short hour and half drive. It will be geared towards the upper middle class or higher. We would have some of our own grape vines on the farm to make everyday wines and we will have the opportunity to import grapes and/or juice from California for the higher end wines.

The two entities would complement each other, allowing guest to make a weekend out of the trip.

Since children grow so fast I think a good idea would be to have adjustable golf clubs for children. Golf clubs can be expensive and having to buy a new set for children every year or so can be very costly. I know I have a younger sister who just got new clubs and now less then a year later, they are already too short for her. Instead of having to buy a whole new set, why not have a club that you can adjust to fit your new height.

I was thinking about starting an online investing company such as e-trade, sharebuilder, etc, but I wanted to focus it more towards high schoolers, college students, and the younger generation. A lot of the young adults are not educated in stocks and don't see how they can greatly change their future financially. The business that I will start will help high schoolers, and college students to start investing at an earlier age. I will make things easier for the younger generation to earn a piece of the pie. This will help bring more young people to investing and be able to enter the stock market early.

Import/Export: I want to open a company selling used cars and some US made products oversea. Also want to open a beauty boutique selling European products. The boutique would include a section for designer cloths from Europe.

I would like to start a company that would do videos and photography for events like weddings, graduations, plays, musicals, other celerations, etc.

Statistics show that college students become unhealthy throughout their college career. An organization that can be provided by the Recreational Sports Center and PUSH is called STAR (Students Train All Residents). All students are encouraged to apply for a paid position in this organization that will provide health and fitness services to student residents of Purdue University. Individuals encouraged to apply for a position are those who are majoring in any science (be it dietics, athletic training, physical therapy, health & kinesiology, etc) or those with a interest and certification in an area (aerobics, personal training, or played the sport throughout their high school career). Student residents may like this assistance in aid of learning how to play a sport, learn new techniques for intramurals (may apply to fraternity/sorority intramurals, residence hall intramurals, or club sports), and aspire to become more physically fit (with assistance in weight lifting, cardio, daily meal plan etc). Student trainers may also assist residents in training for athletic events, such as marathons, triatholons, iron man, or charity athletic events. The STAR organization will help students feel better about themselves physically, emotionally, and mentally. This will help residents perform better academically and physically.

This is a great opportunity for student involvement not only to earn an income, perfect athletic skills, stay healthy and exercise, use knowledge learned from classes, but also have a great organization/job reference for their resume.

I have a great idea for a new rim design for cars. Target market is directed towards modern hip hop culture. I think I could sell my idea to a designer and I can get rich.

My idea for the final project is opening a fitness center for children that focuses on nutrition and exercise. All of the equipment would be designed for children specifically and all of the trainers would work one-on-one with the kids. This would help decrease the amount of children's obesity in America today by getting places open all across the US.

I think Vodka Freeze Pops would be a great idea. They are really delicious when I get drunk... why not combine the two? Comments?

You're right, there are definitely sites like this up already..i'm not sure of the name, but most of them require a minimum order of custom shirts. For example if you want a shirt with your design on it, you would have to order a minimum of 10 t-shirts. I hope to make it just a little different and more unique. I like the facebook idea because then everyone would be able to see what shirts their friends are making or have made and order them if they want to. Good idea.
