A heads-up about organizing students into groups for conferencing
Please excuse me if you already know what I am about to express below and I somehow spaced it:
Wednesday is my first day of conferencing. I took Samantha's suggestion of dividing my students into four groups of five (Group A, B, C, and D) so that I meet with students for conferencing for 10 minutes every other week. According to my Course Schedule, Groups A and C will meet on Wednesdays (every other week) and Groups B and D will meet on Fridays (every other week). I thought I could just randomly assign my students to a group. However, as my students explained to me today, they either have me on their schedules for M,T,W,Th or M,T,TH,F. Although this caught me off guard at first, I was easily able to assign them to a Wednesday or Friday group. So, just in case you didn't know they're not scheduled to be with you five days/week...
