So many fascinating questions come to mind it boggles the mind.

Saw that on a bumper sticker; thought it was profound.
I wish English allowed for the dropping of pronouns as Spanish does.
I struggle to view anything in a single-player setting as true role-playing. Playing a role, to me, requires presenting it to others.

Any time I can quote Rage Against the Machine I can't pass it up...
"Environment
The environment exceeding on the level
Of our unconciousness
For example,
What does the billboard say?
Come and play!, come and play!
Forget about the movement"

I started my post about four times this week, but I never submitted it because I couldn't figure out exactly what I was getting at. It just sounded dumb. Luckily, there's Zack de la Rocha!

last night was the premiere of grey's. it sucked. i mean, i'm still going to watch it b/c i love sandra oh and because it continues to be the only thing i look forward to every week. ok. so this season, the interns have all become residents, and they have little interns. at the opening of the show, the writers brought back the /exact/ speech that bailey gave them in the first episode (i know this b/c i own the first and second seasons, and watch them repeatedly whenever i get depressed or lonely, which lately has been--well--daily).

After this week's reading I had to go back and look through Huizinga a second time because I kept trying to define play. It made me think that here we have one answer to the question Nick raised a week or two ago. Can we trick people into doing actual work while they're playing games? (My apologies Nick if that's not the exact question you asked.)
Huizinga's answer appears to be no.

Turkle’s piece on video games this week was like taking a walk down memory lane. Joust! Hell yeah!

When writing my previous entry on work, I remembered something interesting about documentation and gender. I thought you might be interested in hearing that:
My grandmother never had her own social security number. When she was born they weren't issued at birth and the only time a woman

I happened across a conference that might be of interest, if for no other reason than the fact that they quote McLuhan in their conference description. Massaging Media 2: Graphic Design Education in the Age of Dynamic Media

After our discussions about Gitleman's take on women and technology, I wrote this blog.

Hi everyone,
I found a Review for The New Media Reader, the text from which our readings next week come.
