Here's another (pretty interesting) article about making money in Second Life, from Wired.

Sad sad story here, but an important one. Story of a thirteen year old girl who committed suicide after recieving a barrage of harrassment on Myspace-- sparked by a boy she friended who turned on her. But the boy was not who he seemed . . .

Here's another good article from the BBC.

Not only does it discuss the inevitable spread of viruses on Macs it raises the issue of the need for media literacy....

I've been cat-sitting for Morgan R. and I took advantage of her offer to play with her Wii. My spouse came along and we bowled and played tennis. I had tennis lessons a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time ago, but it was funny how I remembered how you are supposed to play the game; it's different in meat space, that's for sure. For one, in meat space tennis you aren't supposed to take more than one swing. I think changing the direction of your swing helps in Wii tennis; also I did manage to figure out how to serve an ace, but we figured it's someone unsportsmanlike in Wii.

I just had to share this thing that I saw on t.v. a couple of minutes ago while enjoying my nightly frozen pizza and Everybody Loves Raymond rerun. On Channel four, there was a preview for tonight's news at 10:00. This deep, imposing voice (think of the guy who does the horror movie voice overs) comes on and says "people making money...off of nothing at all: tonight at 10:00." It's hard to imitate in a blog, but the point is that he said it as though we have something to fear, kind of like the idea of teenagers having fun. Anyway, I hope someone else sees this advertisement tonight.

Here are the notes that Kristin and I made on SL/RL/FL/Education during class friday...

She was born in the Heavilon second floor computer lab at 4:32 today. A bouncing girl, sixty-five inches, no-one-needs-to-know how many pounds.

Here's 2 things of interest.
First is an article from the BBC about a Dutch teenager (and some other yahoos) who was arrested recently for taking the five-fingered discount on items belonging to other folks in cyberspace, specifically from Habbo Hotel. Pay for your movies and leave the towels, please.

And here's a video you must watch (if you haven't already) that is a send-up of Amy Winehouse's "Rehab." This one is called Wiihab. Ha.
