Peps seemed interested, and its the first thing that has really emerged on the web with my name attached to it that I feel positive ownership of... so I though, what they hey?! Post that mofo. Since I am one of the first time visit only statistics in SL, I've been messaging with Sarah Robbins on Facebook about scheduling a meet up time in SL to wander around together. Sarah suggested that many of us could congregate in SL after the holiday at a scheduled time. Any interested parties and date/time suggestions?
http://www.digitalparlor.org/fa07/blackmon1/node/266#comments Sat, 08 Dec 2007 11:33:43 -0500 wkzanders 266 at http://www.digitalparlor.org/fa07/blackmon1 Yeeeeesss...I love technology http://www.digitalparlor.org/fa07/blackmon1/node/265
...always and forever.

For this project, I have learned several new technologies: survey software (Qualtrics), GarageBand, iShowu, and iMovie.

I must say, I am quite proud of myself.

For the full song, check out the following link.
http://www.digitalparlor.org/fa07/blackmon1/node/265#comments Fri, 07 Dec 2007 11:18:10 -0500 Morgan S. 265 at http://www.digitalparlor.org/fa07/blackmon1 Wii-Hab? revisited http://www.digitalparlor.org/fa07/blackmon1/node/264
Hey there was an interesting article on Wii-Hab that my student made me aware of. I had never even heard of the game, but a few days ago, I had the beautiful opportunity to witness it in action. For those of you who aren't familiar, it's actually pretty similar to Guitar Hero, but it's a multiple-player game; one person sings, another plays guitar, and a third person plays the drums (I think there can also be a bass player for a total of four people playing the game at once).

http://www.digitalparlor.org/fa07/blackmon1/node/262#comments Wed, 05 Dec 2007 16:47:25 -0500 Jaci Wells 262 at http://www.digitalparlor.org/fa07/blackmon1 The xbox has a play timer? http://www.digitalparlor.org/fa07/blackmon1/node/261
Apparently there is a new feature on the xbox that limits a child's (or whoever is playing it) play time. After seeing how much we played Legend of Zelda and Mario Brothers on the 8-bit, my mother implemented a new house rule requiring us to read an equivalent amount of time to our game play. That rule lasted for a few months, but it is an interesting point about perspectives on the "worth" of gaming v. more traditionally accepted forms of intellectual development.
http://www.digitalparlor.org/fa07/blackmon1/node/261#comments Sun, 02 Dec 2007 19:11:30 -0500 wkzanders 261 at http://www.digitalparlor.org/fa07/blackmon1 Flash Based Guitar Hero: Mucho Addictive http://www.digitalparlor.org/fa07/blackmon1/node/260
Here's a totally passable, Flash based verision of Guitar Hero so you can get your fix if you don't happen to be near the Playstation, X-box, Wii of your choice.

http://www.kongregate.com/games/Shinki/super-crazy-guitar-maniac-deluxe-...

It's played with the arrow keys and A, S, D. The songs are from complete unknowns due to copyright issues, but they're not completely horrible. It does make the game harder though, cause knowing the song well helps you get into the rhythmn.
http://www.digitalparlor.org/fa07/blackmon1/node/260#comments Fri, 30 Nov 2007 06:56:48 -0500 pepper 260 at http://www.digitalparlor.org/fa07/blackmon1 Sweet Moolah in Second Life http://www.digitalparlor.org/fa07/blackmon1/node/259
Here's another (pretty interesting) article about making money in Second Life, from Wired.
http://www.digitalparlor.org/fa07/blackmon1/node/259#comments Tue, 27 Nov 2007 20:16:28 -0500 Morgan S. 259 at http://www.digitalparlor.org/fa07/blackmon1
