Submit your avatar for the C&W 2010 banner! We're looking for the virtual world and gaming avatars of prospective attendees and C&W past participants to feature and cycle through our site banner. Here's how to submit an avatar to us:

1. You'll need an avatar that you can export as an image file or that you can grab with a screenshot. We're most interested in head shots but full body shots will work, too.
2. Do a little prep work on your avatar before you send it to us. Ideally, we'd like you to remove the background (as in the current banner images). You can do that in a good image editor with masking tools. For a quick overview of how to mask an image in PhotoShop, check out Donnie Hoyle's You Suck at PhotoShop tutorial on "Paths and Masks" below.
3. Finished size should be no more than 140 pixels in height.
4. Send your file in JPG, PNG, PSD, or similar format to computersandwriting@gmail.com with a short cover note letting us know who you are.
5. We can't guarantee we'll be able to use your avatar, but we'll certainly try. We'll let you know when it makes an appearance . . .
6. We're planning some games and contests later on, as well as an "Avatar Party" at the conference, so this will get you going . . .
