Hatfield Elements of E-Mail 021

I completely agree with this article and talk show about how to send proper emails. I enjoyed the beginning message when they mention giving more information and specific information in an email. When an email is written and the point is clear in the email, then the amount of emails that go back and forth will be much less. I agree with the importance of expressing your tone in an email as well. When things are read through email rather than being expressed in person, the point of the email can be taken a different way than it was intended to.

Valle-Velez "The Elements of E-mail Style" 021

I completely agree with this entry about emails. Our generation has been brought up on technology and sometimes we forget the value and importance of physical interaction with each other. This is where impressions are made and the time to find out your feelings about the person you are interacting with. I use this as an advantage in real life when instead of emailing or texting someone I call and say what I need to say to them so they can know the importance or any other distinct characteristics that may not be foreseen in an email.

"The Elements of Email Style" Readers Response

The audio file regarding The Elements of Email Style started by emphasizing that many people send sarcastic, unnecessary emails. The authors of “Send” further explained the reason for mailing many unimportant emails is due to the fact that it’s easy to push the “send” button. I agree with the authors reasoning because generally people like to receive emails. However, I believe the incentive to mail unnecessary emails grew from the popularity of text messages. Many people send and receive texts messages day-to-day, but emails allow to send many functions that texts cannot do.
