After completing our first draft of our white paper we read a few articles online about group project steps and the right way to go about drafting the project. One thing I learned was they recommended it is best to draft the project individually first. This is because team drafting can be slow and inefficient. It is always important to send revised sections to another person to make sure all mistakes are caught. The final step is sending the revised sections to a master file which is the whole report. Another article we read was about making sure the websites we use are legitimate and can be trusted. It was very helpful by showing what to look for in a website so all of our sources are reliable which would build our ethos. After reading these articles we spent Thursday’s class peer reviewing the other group papers. From this we learned parts of our paper that we liked and found some ideas that we wanted to change. One of the biggest things that having the other groups proofread our paper was when formatting and editing our paper in InDesign, one of the paragraphs was replaced by an existing one so it was repeated. This was a huge mistake and would not have been caught with the peer evaluation. From the editing, we met again the next day and started brainstorming ideas about our presentation of our final draft. We then checked out the suggested programs and decided that SlideRocket was the best way to deliver our information. After making a rough idea of our presentation we went through our first draft of the white paper and fixed the mistakes and proofread it once again. After our productive day, we have decided to meet again outside of class. This will give us even more time to perfect our paper even using Tuesday as a work day in class.
