Wednesday Gaming @ GDC

Game Theory | Research and Writing | This Is What a Feminist Looks Like
While I spent far too much time touring the Expo at GDC I played a lot of games as well. Want to know what I played? Here's a quick list and my 5 word maximum first reactions!

Hellgate London- Really Liked It

Crysis- Liked It

Spore Creatures (DS-Pre-release)- It could grow on me

Wii Fit- Strangely addictive (and the Nintendo guy got me to hula hoop in public!)

Dishwasher: Dead Samurai (XNA community game for XBLA)- Definite Download

Little Gamers (XNA community game for XBLA)- Definite Download

Penumbra:Overture- Not for me

Warriors Orochi (Pre-release for the PSP)- A hack & slash feast. Gots to get me some of that!

Bionic Commando (watched a demo)- A Black, male, Lara Croft with dreads...not really my type of game this one.

Fez- A GDC Indie favorite...a cross between Echochrome and old school platformer

Wii Fit

I'm probably going to pick up Wii Fit- but I'm really hoping its more than a conduit for cheap mini-game collections. I know there's going to be "family ski," but I'd like to see some developer push the envelope with this one.

Wii Ski!

The ski game was fun! There is also a very cool game where you have to get a ball through a hole in a platform and if you go to far to one side or the other the ball falls off and the level ends. It may not be aerobic but it does get the heart pumping!

Mach Rider / Excite Bike

I'd like to see an old school remake for the balance board of a motorcycle game. Something were I have to "balance" myself on the bike while either shootin' badies or performing tricks. But Wii Ski sounds like a good start. Truth be told, I'm just counting down the days until Wii Love Golf!
